Guided Camel Ride on the Essaouira Coast
Ride a camel south along the Essaouira shore, away from the tourist medina. One-two hours. Great for solo travelers, families, or groups. No experience needed. No crowds. Just the coast, sun, and desert dunes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Meet & Greet
You'll meet your camel, get a quick briefing on how to ride and dismount safely, and we'll sort any last questions before we head out. English, French, and Darija spoken.
Dress for the Desert
If you want, we'll wrap a desert turban for you and take photos before we head out. Bring your own scarf, or we will provide a fresh cleaned one.
Enjoy the Ride
You'll ride south along the coastline towards Diabat. For two hour rides, you’ll go through the dunes for a stretch that feels like a desert trek.
End and Take Photos
You'll end back at Beach & Friends cafe where we spend time on photos to capture the Moroccan memory.
Hosted by Said
Said has worked with camels for over 35 years. He knows every animal by temperament and every stretch of the coastline by condition.
Hosted by Amine
Amine has worked alongside Said for 15 years and speaks English, French, and Darija. With larger groups he leads the second half of the caravan, making sure every guest is comfortable and gets the photos they came for.

Beach & Friends
📍 Av. Mohammed V, Essaouira 44000, MoroccoBeach & Friends café sits on the ocean beachfront south of the medina — easy to reach and a recognized landmark for taxi drivers. From the medina's coastal gate, it's a scenic 20–30 minute walk along the beach.
Need help getting there? We can meet you at your accommodation and can go together via taxi. Just let us know.
Staying outside Essaouira? Send us a WhatsApp and we can arrange a pickup for a small additional fee.
THINGS TO KNOW
Group Sizes
We book groups up to 8 people on short notice; however, we can book larger groups with 48 hours advanced notice. Our largest group we hosted was 38! To request a large group, just fill out the booking request form above and we will send you a custom booking invoice.
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 4 hours before the start time for a full refund.
Guest Requirements
Minimum age: 5 years old
What To Wear
- Sunglasses
- A windproof layer — the Atlantic coast is cooler than expected
- Sun protection
- A scarf if you want to wear your own desert turban
Activity Level
The activity level for this experience is light and the skill level is beginner.
